At Saddles in Service, our mission is to combat the suicide rates among Veterans, Active-Duty Military, and First Responders, and to promote mental health, wellness and healing to these Heroes through equine-assisted learning and activities. Heroes experiencing symptoms related to post-traumatic stress (PTSD), anxiety, depression, job-related stress, and/or traumatic brain injuries are partnered with a horse through their healing journey. In turn, we help them rediscover their joy, hope, confidence, and purpose.
Because our program is designed to serve those with the greatest need, please understand that not every applicant will be accepted. Our case managers carefully review each application to ensure the right fit for both the Hero and our program.
“The horse can just be a great vehicle for some people to overcome things in their life that they might not be able to overcome otherwise”

Why our program?
Many of these Heroes experience daily stressors throughout their service to our communities. We offer a place to reset from these daily stressors. We created this program to show our Heroes that they are not alone in their journey.
Our program is a 7 phase program individually tailored to our Heroes’ needs, competence, and availability.
