Happy Fall! We are loving the cooler temperatures here at the ranch! For those of you who have been here during the summer months, you know how wonderful it is when temperatures begin to fall. Not only do we enjoy the cooler temperatures, but the horses are also loving it as well and are feeling a little frisky!

I must say that September did not disappoint! We sent our first two Heroes to Wyoming and they had the time of their lives! It was a life-changing experience for both of them. We will be sending 7 more heroes this month to experience the beauty of riding in the Big Horn Mountains and learn to move cattle. Be ready for some great stories in our next newsletter.

To get our heroes ready for cattle work, we have begun taking our horses to a local ranch every Monday afternoon. John and Maggie have generously donated their time, cattle, and ranch in order for us to get our horses comfortable with cattle and to teach our heroes. This has been such a great experience for all of us! If you are in the area and want to come to watch, let me know. We’d love to have you see firsthand what our Heroes are learning in their journey of healing.

Thank you to the Latham Foundation for their generous grant of $7,500 to support our Heroes and Horses! We are so grateful for their support as well as all of our donor’s support! We could not carry out our mission without you or our volunteers. As the number of Hero applications continue to grow, your support is very much appreciated and needed. We continue to grow each and every week. But thankfully we have also continued to grow in the number of talented wranglers and ranch hands that have come on board this past month. We are so thankful for their dedication in helping us heal our Heroes and Horses! We are truly blessed to have such amazing volunteers and supporters! Thank you!!

Exciting News! We will be filming an episode of “Operation Outdoor Freedom” on the Discovery Channel! We are so excited to be featured along with one of our Veterans going through our program. I will fill you in with more details next month but it will definitely be a great episode as our Hero will be teaching the Host, Jay Garstecki, how to do the groundwork, ride and work cattle! We will be sure to let you know when it will be aired!

Thank you again to all of our volunteers and supporters! We could not do this life-changing work without you!

Hugs, Tammy
